Individualized Support Plans
Every mother and her child receives a personalised support plan tailored to their individual strengths, needs, aspirations, and circumstances. Support plans focus on promoting child safety and development, strengthening parenting capacity, enhancing emotional wellbeing, developing independent living skills, and achieving long-term goals. Each plan is developed collaboratively with the mother, Local Authority, and other relevant professionals, and is regularly reviewed to reflect progress, changing needs, and positive outcomes for the whole family.
Education, Training and Employment Support
We support mothers to access education, training, and employment opportunities that enhance their skills, confidence, and long-term independence. Working in partnership with colleges, training providers, employment services, and Local Authorities, we help mothers overcome barriers to learning and work. Support may include assistance with course enrolment, CV writing, job applications, interview preparation, digital skills, and accessing childcare where appropriate. We also provide guidance to help mothers achieve their personal aspirations while creating positive and sustainable futures for themselves and their children.
Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Support
We recognise the importance of emotional wellbeing for both mothers and their children. Through partnership working with local health services and specialist agencies, we support access to counselling, perinatal mental health services, therapeutic support, and other appropriate interventions where needed. Our trauma-informed staff provide compassionate day-to-day emotional support, helping mothers build resilience, manage challenges, strengthen positive relationships, and promote healthy emotional development for themselves and their children
Independent Living and Life Skills Development
We provide practical guidance and personalised support to help mothers develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed for independent family living. This includes budgeting, meal planning and cooking, parenting routines, home management, personal wellbeing, time management, tenancy responsibilities, and accessing community services. Our hands-on approach empowers mothers to build stable, sustainable homes and prepare for a successful transition to independent living with their children.
Health and Wellbeing Support
We promote the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of both mothers and their children by supporting access to healthcare services and encouraging healthy lifestyles. Our team works closely with GPs, midwives, health visitors, mental health services, and other professionals to ensure families receive appropriate care and support. We also provide guidance on nutrition, healthy meal planning, physical activity, child development, and emotional wellbeing, helping families establish healthy routines that support long-term health and positive outcomes.
Community Engagement and Family Activities
We encourage mothers and their children to take part in a range of recreational, educational, and community activities that promote wellbeing, learning, and positive family relationships. Activities may include parent and toddler groups, arts and crafts, outdoor play, family outings, health and wellbeing sessions, and community events. These opportunities help reduce social isolation, build confidence, strengthen support networks, and create positive experiences that contribute to healthy child development and family resilience.
Family Support and Community Integration
We recognise the importance of strong family relationships and positive community connections in promoting long-term wellbeing and independence. Where appropriate and in the best interests of the child, we encourage and facilitate meaningful family involvement and work collaboratively with professionals and support networks. We also support mothers and their children to engage with local community resources, parent groups, children's centres, and recreational activities, helping to reduce social isolation, build confidence, and develop lasting support networks.
Move-On Planning and Resettlement Support
From the beginning of each placement, we work with mothers to plan for a successful transition to independent family living. Our move-on planning includes support with securing suitable accommodation, tenancy readiness, financial stability, education, training, employment, and accessing ongoing community services. By working closely with Local Authorities and partner agencies, we help families build the confidence, skills, and support networks needed to achieve sustainable independence and long-term stability.
